Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa Open for Business

13-10-2008

The Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa has finally opened to the public on Monday 15th September and has been very busy since. The first day of public access was preceded by the official opening ceremony which took place on Friday 12th September.

The official opening was hosted by Tim Hayes, Mayor of Hepburn Shire, and was attended by representatives of the Victorian State Government, Hepburn Shire Council, Daylesford and region tourism organisations, and the Belgravia Health and Leisure Group.

Jacinta Allan, Minister for Regional and Rural Development, officially opened the building and unveiled a commemorative plaque to mark the event.

On behalf of Belgravia Health and Leisure, Geoff Lord spoke of the reinvigoration of the area through the reopening of the Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa, and the future potential of the region. The reopening of the Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa is seen by many as heralding renewed interest in and visitation to the area and associated economic benefits.

After the speeches and media interviews, drinks and canapés were served on the Relaxation Deck, where guests mingled in the late afternoon sun overlooking the stream and bushland of the Mineral Springs Reserve.

In its first few weeks of operation the Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa has proven itself to be immediately popular with locals and visitors alike. Patronage is currently in line with expectations and future bookings are filling fast. Of most interest to those re-discovering the Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa is The Sanctuary with its underwater Spa Couches, Aroma Steam Room, Saltwater Float Pool and freshwater Monsoon Showers along with the private mineral bathing therapies in The Spa area of the complex.
