Swim Kids Operation 10,000 Kicks Off

15-03-2012

Belgravia Leisure has joined forces with Royal Lifesaving Society – Australia and others to deliver the “Swim Kids Operation 10,000” program across Australia. The aim of the initiative is to provide Swim and Survive lessons to children across Australia that otherwise may not be able access this important life skill program.

For our part Belgravia Leisure will be providing 1,000 lessons free of charge across our network of managed aquatic facilities. Individual children will be identified in conjunction with local schools and community groups to participate in the program.

The initiative was launched in Sydney last month where a pool and special exhibition was stationed at Customs House, Circular Quay in Sydney. Over the week of the exhibition media outlets conducted live crosses and on the final day the exhibition was attended by the Federal Minister for School Education, Peter Garrett.

Major sponsor Uncle Toby’s have also provided major support to the initiative and ambassadors Grant Hackett and Eamon Sullivan have expressed their thanks to Belgravia Leisure for our contribution. The general public are being encouraged to show their support for this life saving initiative by visiting www.swimkids.com.au or facebook.com/swimkidsoz where Royal Lifesaving Society – Australia are continuing their awareness and fundraising activities.

Belgravia Leisure is proud to, once again, partner with Royal Lifesaving Society – Australia to deliver an important water safety initiative to the communities in which we operate.
